"Frank Lloyd Wright is the reason I became an architect. I saw his buildings in a textbook when I was in high school and said to myself 'these buildings are so much more than walls and roofs - they have a soul!' and I wanted to give life to buildings too.
I intuitively identify with Mr. Wright's principles of organic architecture - the house is of the land, not on the land - and the lifelong study of his buildings and design philosophy informs my work greatly.
In the mid 2000's, while on a mid-career sabbatical, I was asked to teach design and professional practice at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. While there, I led students in the design of a new city - Lily Valley - and the development of a set of building principles for designing new towns that we called The New American Village."
